WHY T.E.N. ?
Many successful athletes have worn the number “10”. To us, the number “10” will forever remind us of Thomas Elliott Nims (T.E.N.), a dedicated athlete, father, and coach.
Tom Nims, born and raised in Syracuse, New York attended West Genesee high school and was a 1980 All American Goalie. Following West Genny, Tom attended Syracuse University and won a National Championship in 1983.
After many years as a dedicated athlete wearing the number “10”, Tom headed to Watertown, NY, to settle down to raise a family and begin the next chapter of life as the Coach.
As a founding member of Watertown Youth Lacrosse, Tom committed to teaching the game of Lacrosse to his son Kenny, daughter Taylor, cousins, and many others throughout the years.
Unfortunately, due to complications with Diabetes in 1993, we lost the athlete, father, and coach we had all grown to love. Fortunately, for family members memories of Tom can be seen by many cousins, and friends all wearing the number “10” in honor of his passion, dedication, and commitment to family.
His son and daughter have led the charge by both wearing number “10” throughout their youth conquests and beyond. Kenny, followed in his father’s footsteps by attending Syracuse University, was a two- time All American and two-time National Championship winner. Taylor, also followed 81(S) to SU and is a freshmen hoping for championship rings of her own.
Thomas Elliott Nims had saves that wowed us all, and accomplishments that have made us believers . His passion, commitment to others, and desire to be the best, have inspired us to be sure the story off the field goes on forever. We are committed to developing, marketing, and organizing Premier Sporting events within the Rochester community. We are focused on you, the participant and look forward to exceeding all expectations, as we know Tom, would have settled for nothing less.
